(The Age) Drivers of environmentally friendly cars could be allocated special car parks, similar to those for the disabled, under a Federal Labor plan to end Australia's reliance on Middle East oil. Opposition Leader Kim Beazley said yesterday he would talk to the states and local government about parking advantages to encourage the use of "green" vehicles, such as hybrid electric cars or those powered by alternative fuels.

Air Force Making Progress on Alternative Fuels
(The Lincoln Tribune) The Air Force is embracing an energy strategy that uses alternative sources of power and conservation, a top Air Force official said here recently. Federal judge in Seattle upholds new rules for relicensing dams
(The Columbian) A federal judge on Tuesday upheld the Bush administration's interpretation of dam-relicensing rules in the 2005 Energy Policy Act, although critics had argued it could lead to lesser protections for the environment.
