Six Arab nations 'developing nuke power'
(The West Australian) At least six Arab countries are developing domestic nuclear power programs to diversify energy sources, a Middle East economic magazine reported. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Algeria have shown interest in developing nuclear power primarily for water desalination.

Bartlett touts alternative energy at hybrid car show
(Hagerstown Morning Herald) U.S. Rep. Roscoe Bartlett told a group gathered Friday at Valley Mall that the country is in an "Indian summer of oil," and should look more closely at alternative fuels. During what was dubbed "The 1st Annual Hybrid Car Show in Hagerstown," Bartlett, R-Md., said the price of oil has been down, but it will rise again.

Alternative energy lighting it up
(San Francisco Chronicle) In the heart of Silicon Valley, David Pearce's startup Miasole is in a mad dash to figure out a more cost-effective way to manufacture solar cells. So far, he's been getting help from big investors including venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, whose portfolio of success stories includes Google and Sun Microsystems.
