Nuclear power is our only hope (The Patriot-News: Mon, 29 Jan) I continue to read about global warming and its corresponding destruction of our planet. Rarely do I see nuclear energy mentioned. Nuclear energy is the only viable solution to the problem of producing enough energy to supply our needs without adding to the buildup of greenhouse gases.

UPI Poll: Safety of nuclear power (The Washington Times: Fri, 26 Jan) A solid majority of U.S. respondents to a UPI-Zogby International poll said they believe nuclear power is safe. Some 27.5 percent of participants in the poll strongly agreed with the statement that "nuclear power is safe." Another 35.2 percent said they somewhat agree with the statement.
