Topeka in Running for $200 million Ethanol Plant (WIBW-TV Topeka: Wed, 14 Feb) Big economic news for Topeka today. It's been named as a possible site for a new ethanol plant. A subsidiary of Cargill called Emerald Renewable Energy is building four plants in all. Spokesperson Mick Mines says the company has identified a 300-acre site northwest of Topeka.
